I am a Registered Sanitarian located in Columbus Ohio. My professional career is very diverse starting with several years of Laboratory experience in Microbiology, Chemistry, and Radio-Chemistry. More recently I have been in regulatory enforcement of state environmental laws.
I am now adding Information Technology skills so I can wield software and hardware and manage data that can be used for the Internet Of Things (IoT). In the ever changing business landscape, it is important to employ those who continue to learn and grow. Peruse my skills and experience; I look forward to hearing from you.

WORK EXPERIENCE

OHIO, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH LABORATORY
August 1994 - September 2001
I began as a lab tech testing fluoridation in water from treatment plants. I quickly progressed and expanded my skills to first Chemist then Radio-Chemist. Analytes included water, food, vegetation and fish under programs regulated by US EPA and NRC.
Then I expanded into a Microbilogist postition, testing for Rabies, STDs, and HIV, regulated by CLIA.
SANITARIAN, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH
September 2001 - August 2008
I transferred to the main office of the Department of Health as a Sanitarian in Training. I became subject matter expert for the Lead Based Paint licensure program, studied for and  passed the state Registered Sanitarian exam. Duties included regulatory audits of Lead Abatement sites, training, technical assistance, public information in accordance with US and OH EPA regulations.
SANITARIAN PROGRAM SPECIALIST, ODH
August 2008 -Â Present
I am currently Product Owner for a newly created Database Application. I provide training and technical assistance, answer questions for the general public, routinely liaison with other state agencies and legal staff for enforcement of the State No Smoking law. I provide case documents for hearings and testify at hearings as needed.

Biology and Chemistry degrees pursued simultaneously - dual degree. This included an undergrad fellowship with Syracuse University for Chemistry and Internship with Allegheny National Fish Hatchery for Biology.

I was on a career path towards graduate research and PhD in Chemistry when life took me down a different path.

I am currently pursuing a BS in Technical Management in Information Technology. With the new knowledge and skills I plan to transition into a position with the IoT.

I have traveled to Tennessee & New Orleans in the US, Grenada, El Salvador, Cuba, Phillipines & Cambodia for various humanitarian reasons, including good will, encouragement, disaster relief, rebuilding.
